I have to say this is either the best marketing scheme or the laziest restaurant naming
I’ve ever seen. Would you like to go to the Best Italian Restaurant in Gatlinburg? No I
mean really….that’s the name of the restaurant ~ Best Italian
I know Italian food might not be the first thing that comes to mind when searching out which restaurants to eat at while vacationing in the South, but it really is an excellent restaurant…I don’t know about the best…I’ve had wonderful pasta in Europe, but that said … Best Italian is definitely worth checking out.
Tip: They offer call ahead seating and during peak travel season it can get very busy because the place is pretty small. Take advantage of calling before you leave our “Incredible View Cabin” and your table will probably be ready when you get there.
The serving sizes are huge (think about splitting the calzones and pizza) and the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get.
On a recent trip into Gatlinburg for dinner with our daughter, we ordered Lasagna ($17.99) , Spaghetti with marinara sauce($12.99) and lunch size Brazilian Bechamel Pizza ($8.99 and yes that is the lunch size). Both dinners came with the salad shown and rolls.
And if you love bread, which with Italian food who doesn’t, get an order of “World Famous Garlic Rolls” ($3.99 for 6/$5.99 for 12) ~ they are to die for…well again that might be an exaggeration, but very good and not to be missed.
We didn’t order it this time, but the Calzones are amazing. When I tell you they are huge…it is an understatement. You’ve got to see them in person to believe it. But be prepared to tell me…They are huge.
Surprisingly there are 2 locations on the Parkway, less than 1 mile apart. The original is in the Elks Plaza-between traffic lights 8&9 and the newest location between traffic lights 6&8. As with most things in life…the original is the best (IMHO).
As you can tell we eat here pretty regularly.,..well before we started our Low Carb diet in August. Can’t wait until we reach our target weight, Best Italian here we come!
